Product Description

Bosch's BMP280 is a high-precision barometric pressure and temperature sensor ideal for weather stations, drones, and environmental monitoring. It delivers +/-1 hPa pressure accuracy (8.5cm altitude resolution) and +/-1°C temperature accuracy across a -40°C to +85°C range.

In ultra-high-resolution mode, pressure noise drops to just 0.16 Pa, equivalent to detecting 1.3cm altitude changes. The sensor communicates via I2C or SPI with selectable addresses (0x76 or 0x77), making multi-sensor setups straightforward.

Power efficiency is exceptional: the 1.8V–3.6V supply draws only 2.8 microamps in forced mode, perfect for battery-powered loggers and remote sensors. Configurable oversampling and filter settings let you balance noise reduction against sampling speed.

The module includes a 3.3V regulator, accepting 3.3V–5V input. Unlike its predecessor the BMP180, the BMP280 uses a different register map, use the Adafruit BMP280 or Bosch BME280 library (available in Arduino Library Manager) for quick integration. Ideal for weather monitoring, drone altitude sensing, indoor climate control, hiking GPS logging, greenhouse pressure tracking, and any battery-powered environmental application requiring reliable, low-power sensing.
