Arduino® Portenta CAT.M1/NB IoT GNSS Shield

The Portenta Cat. M1/NB IoT GNSS Shield enhances connectivity options for Portenta applications, using the Cinterion TX62 wireless module by Thales, which is optimized for low-power IoT applications. This shield enables Cat.M1 and NB-IoT cellular connectivity, ideal for asset tracking and remote monitoring across sectors like industry, agriculture, utilities, and smart cities. With GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou support, the shield allows users to track assets locally or globally.

Designed for seamless integration, this shield expands Portenta boards with advanced capabilities, such as creating a multiprotocol router combining WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular connectivity. It is also compatible with MKR boards, providing flexible options for IoT applications requiring low bandwidth and power efficiency.

In industrial and agricultural settings, the Portenta Cat. M1/NB IoT GNSS Shield supports remote monitoring of devices like gas detectors, optical sensors, and alarm systems. For smart city applications, the shield enables automated resource management and data-driven actions.

The standard shield version does not include a GSM/UMTS antenna, but users can connect any compatible antenna or purchase a Dipole Pentaband Waterproof Antenna for enhanced connectivity options.
