The Transistor Flasher SMD Trainer is the SMD version of the MitchElectronics Transistor Flasher kit. RoHS and REACH compliant, ideal for classrooms and workshops, and superb for beginners looking to improve their soldering skills!

This kit is part of the SMD Trainer range that only uses SMD parts to test out your soldering skills. Consisting of just two transistors, two capacitors, two LEDs, and four resistors, you will be able to create a dual LED flasher, and this kit is based on the MitchElectronics Transistor Flasher Kit, just a lot smaller. Before making this kit, be sure to read our SMD soldering guide found in our resources page, and pay extra attention when positioning components because de-soldering SMD parts can be extremely challenging.

The prime application for this kit is for soldering practice with SMD parts, and a successfully built board will result in the LEDs flashing one after the other. However, this board can also be used for other purposes, including as a flashing homing beacon for small drones and RC aircraft, a light ornament, and even as a clock source if the value of the capacitors are changed.
